At Plato's nursery the furniture, furnishings and play equipment have been chosen and presented to create an attractive and stimulating environment which will challenge children in an enjoyable and fun way.
We aim to keep the environment uncluttered and attractive because we believe the children appreciate quality surroundings as much as we do ourselves. To maintain our high standards we select each piece of equipment individually and provide an environment that would be appreciated by adults and children alike, for example attractive furnishings and prints of classical works of art by artists such as Degas, Renoir and Monet.

The indoor space is used effectively by dividing the main nursery room into two distinct areas. Part of the room has soft furnishings including thick wool rugs for the children to engage in co-operative play, role-play or sit quietly and comfortably in a book corner.

The other part has a hard tiled floor for easy cleaning for the more messy activities such as sand, water, modelling materials, paint and drawing activities. A variety of puzzles, games and construction materials can be used in either area. The entire room is heated by under-floor heating so that children can choose to sit on the floor or at the tables provided.
